Live the Full Life (2027)

Every year I help run the Men of His Word conference here in Phoenix, and for the last two years I've written a song for the theme. This one is for the 2027 conference: Live the Full Life, from John 10:10, where Jesus says, "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."

The song starts where most of us actually live. We carry more than we can hold and say we're fine so the cracks don't show. Then it walks through three men from Scripture who did the same thing, and what Jesus did about it.

Moses at the burning bush (Exodus 3–4): "Who am I that I should go?" Scared to death, arguing with God about why He would send someone like him. God doesn't answer by telling Moses he's stronger than he thinks. He answers, "I will be with you."

David on the rooftop (2 Samuel 11–12): desire wins the day, and then he hides what he's broken and keeps the door pulled tight. It takes Nathan, a brother sent by mercy, to bring the sin into the light. And it's there in the light that David finds forgiveness (Psalm 51).

Peter by the courtyard fire (Luke 22): the man who swore he'd stand beside Jesus, crumbling in front of a servant girl. Then Jesus comes to find him by the morning sea (John 21). Not to scold him. To restore him. "Feed My sheep. Follow Me."

That's the pattern in every verse. We try, we fail, we hide. And Jesus comes and finds us. He calls us worthy, not because of what we've done or earned, but because of what His blood has claimed. He gives full forgiveness, and strength to fight the fight.

So the refrain isn't a pep talk about trying harder. The full life isn't chasing empty lies, or being trapped by sin and pride, or gripped by fear and doubt. It's the life Jesus already paid for. You're His by grace.

A note on the music

I wanted this one to feel like men singing together in a room, because that's where it will be sung. It builds verse by verse, and the refrain is meant to be simple enough to grab on the second time through.
